2003 Findings:
  • Companies at the top of the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Ranking e.g Safeway - are at the bottom of the Online Survey rankings. The reverse is true for Reuters and RMC Group.


  • 97 of the FTSE 100 companies include CSR information on their website, and 81 include a full report.


  • Only 36 offer any form of interaction - feedback form or debate facility - and 28 do not provide any CSR contact details.


  • Of the FTSE 250, 93 mention CSR, 78 have case studies and 48 a full report.


  • 48 companies (4 FTSE 100; 44 FTSE 250) have no mention of CSR at all.


  • Only 50 of the FTSE 100 and 26 of the FTSE 250 provide direct links from their annual report or IR pages to dedicated CSR sections of the website.


  • The majority of FTSE companies do little to engage stakeholders in CSR activities via their website. Only 14 of the FTSE 100 and 3 of the FTSE 250 websites use Flash and only 2 provided any video or audio content.
